Do you want to let GOD in?

Where is GOD in your life?

How often do you think about him?

Do you thank him for your life?

Do you trust GOD?

Do you love GOD?

Who is in control?

You?

Or GOD?

What does GOD command us to do?

He gave us 10 COMMANDMENTS.

His SOVEREIGN rule.

The first three are about him. 

You shall have no other gods before me.

You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,  but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

“You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

EXODUS 20: 2-7

We are made to worship and GOD commands that we worship him.

Many people don't.

But they have a GOD shaped hole in their lives.

What do they fill it with?

Worship of:

Self.

The Universe.

Money.

Food.

Sex.

Drugs.

Their partner.

Their Child.

Their pet.

This list is not exhaustive. People worship many different things in life, but none offer the ultimate satisfaction and peace that the love and worship of our creator brings.

What does GOD ask of us?

GOD is love. He is relational in the trinity and asks that we love him as he loves us. 

YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL AND WITH ALL YOUR MIGHT

DEUTERONOMY 6:5

We were made to love GOD.

Sadly we often forget that.

What did Jesus say?

Jesus came to fulfil the scripture, not destroy it. 

He emphasized that we were to follow GOD'S commandments.

YOU MAY ASK ME FOR ANYTHING IN MY NAME AND I WILL DO IT. 

IF YOU LOVE ME YOU WILL KEEP MY COMMANDS.

JOHN 14:14-15

If we want GOD to bless our lives we need to obey him, give our lives over to him and love him. 

It is simple.

Simple but not easy.

Turning away from the flesh and towards the spirit is a daily challenge, but oh so rewarding.

IF ANYONE WOULD COME AFTER ME, LET HIM DENY HIMSELF AND TAKE UP HIS CROSS DAILY AND COME FOLLOW ME.

LUKE 9:23

It is a two way street.

GOD will give you everything you desire if you obey his commands.  

The more you read GOD"S word..  the less you want and the more he offers.

It is the most amazing paradox.
