DO YOU FEEL YOU CAN’T COPE?

Sometimes life kicks us a severe body blow. Maybe you lost your job. Maybe someone you loved died. Maybe your health is bad. Maybe all three.

How do you feel?

 Desperate?

Angry?

Scared?

Alone?

Miserable?

Confused?

Paralyzed?

Not sure what to do or how to cope?

Not sure how you will get through this?

WHEN PAIN IS OVERWHELMING.

When pain is too much to bear the advice is to slow down time.

Don’t think about the future. Next year… next month… next week… even the next hour.

 Just focus on now.

This second. And what to do?

Pray.

“COME TO ME ALL YOU WHO ARE WEARY AND BURDENED, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST”.

MATTHEW 11:28

God is waiting to hear from you.

God is always there.

God will give comfort and support.

God is faithful and true.

God will never let you down.

He does not need a fancy prayer. “God, please help me.” is enough.

But oh… how good that will feel.

To know there is someone stronger and caring who is everloving.

God knows our every need.

God knows all the hows and whys which drive us mad.

Trust in God and your burdens will shift.

Have faith that God is sovereign, so that no matter what happens, he is with you.

“YEA, THOUGH I WALK THROUGH THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH, I WILL FEAR NO EVIL: FOR THOU ART WITH ME;THY ROD AND THY STAFF THEY COMFORT ME”.

PSALM 23:4

Such beautiful, powerful words.

No wonder it is such a favourite Psalm.

There is also the Lord’s Prayer.

Our Father… how comforting is that?

Sometimes it can work as a great meditation to recite the Lord’s Prayer on repeat.

Focus on every word.

Exactly… with all your strength, and all your mind and all your heart.

OUR FATHER, WHO ART IN HEAVEN,HALLOWED BE THY NAME. THY KINGDOM COME,THY WILL BE DONE, ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.  GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD,AND FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES, AS WE FORGIVE OTHERS.  LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION, BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL.  FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM, THE POWER AND THE GLORY, FOREVER AND EVER.  AMEN.
